General description
Boardtek is one of the biggest RF/Microwave PCB producer in the world. Our technologies and quality have been approved by many big customers globally. Besides, we work with our customer to develop new process to further reduce the PCB cost.

     Boardtek specialized in processing exotic material in house. From PTFE, Rogers, to low Dk FR-4, from heavy ceramic loaded high Dk to pure Teflon      laminate, Boardtek made PCB from prototype to high volume production. The application covered cell phone base station PA, point-to-point transceiver,      antenna module, LNB, RF SMD components, VSAT¡Ketc.

Exotic Material
To improve the production yield rate, different material need to optimize the process parameters. Boardtek is capable to process material from different vendors with different composition. Besides, since we purchase lots of exotic material, we usually can get lower pricing material compare with other PCB shop.

The material we are using for RF application includes

  • PTFE (Teflon) supplied by Taconic, Rogers, Arlon, Nelco, Chuko, Nippon Pillar¡K
  • Low loss laminate like Rogers 4000, Arlon 25N
  • Fluoropolymer bonding film: Supplied by Gore, Taconic, Rogers, ArlonLow loss laminate like Rogers 4000, Arlon 25N
  • PPE/PPO or BT material
  • Low Dk/Df epoxy based material
  • Mixed Dielectric MLB
    It¡¦s very common for RF/Microwave PCB to bond low loss material and standard FR-4 material in one multiplayer construction now. After many years in production, Boardtek has overcome those common problems happened in this non-balanced construction like board warpage or registration. We also achieve high yield rate for blind/buried via design that has become substantial part of our mixed dielectric MLB. Besides, we are developing coplanar hybrid dielectric construction to help our customer reduce cost.

    PCB Antenna
    Boardtek build different kinds of antenna. The size of antenna distribute from big (up to 72¡¨ long) to small (less than 5 mm wide), thick (up to 0.250¡¨) to thin (down to 0.1 mm). Some new generation products combine with blind via mixed dielectric technology to become part of microwave system. Some antenna modules use HDI technology to engage high density IC.

    SMD components
    There are many RF components made by PCB technology. Boardtek has the capability to produce multiplayer Teflon PCB based components like coupler, power divider. The same technology can also be used for other low loss multiplayer PCB.

    Multi-tier or depth control cavity
    Boardtek can produce the PCB or RF SMD component with multiple depth. It can either made by lamination with no or low flow prepreg/bonding film or made by depth router or milling machine. The cavity can be used for bonding a metal parts or assemble components.

    Coplanar hybrid dielectric
    It¡¦s common to put different dielectric laminate material in one multiplayer PCB to produce mixed dielectric MLB. Boardtek can also put multiple laminate material on the same layer to produce coplanar hybrid MLB. The great thing for this design is to reduce the expensive exotic material usage. If only a small part of the pattern need exotic material, this technology can save a lot of PCB cost. Besides, it can also reduce the potential risk made by unbalanced layer construction.
